Beloved Sister,
Praise God that you have logged onto this blog and are feeling called by the Holy Spirit to take on the role of prayer intercessor for the Louisville 2011 Deeper Still event! We are thirty days out from the event. And these last thirty days of prayer count the most. By coming together over the next month in intercessory prayer, my hope is that the results will be twofold: first, that there will be a colossal, undeniable movement of the Spirit of God on June 10-11. Secondly, that each of you will experience Him 'deeper still' as you sit at His feet in prayerful intercession.
Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:12 that we are in a spiritual battle with the evil one, that 'our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and agianst the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms'. Nevertheless, God does not leave His children unprotected nor unarmed in this battle. Reading on in Ephesians 6, we are told we have access to His protective armor. But note that we aren't just automatically armed. No--we must intentionally choose to put it on and wear it. Intentionally choose. Every single piece of armor is important. We must choose the belt of truth, choose the breastplate of righteousness, choose the shield of faith and choose the helmet of salvation. All of these defensive pieces of armor protect us fromt the evil one and his wily schemes. However, God gives us two offensive weapons to fight with (and again we must choose them)--He tells us to take 'the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God and pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.'
There you have it.
The Word of God + Prayer = God's Victorious, Incomparable, 'Raising from the Dead' Power!
Oh, how I long to see His power unleashed among the multitudes of women that come together on that second weekend in June...to witness broken spirits, broken jars laid bare--weak and ready--for the Master Craftsman to bind up and make whole...to see dead, sin-infested hearts begin to pump with the life-giving, cleansing blood of Jesus...Amazing Grace in action...oh, Lord, how we want this!
A great outpouring of God's Spirit is always preceded by a faithful remnant of prayer warriors. Always. Are you ready to gird yourselves up for battle, put on God's armor, and fight? Are you ready to 'prepareth the way for the Lord?' we are in this together, dear sister. As you choose to draw that sword, remember that there are sisters all around you drawing swords too. Sword drawing, sister-brawling, strength upon strength in His strength...fighting a battle that's already been won. Oh, it doesn't get much better than that.
I am so grateful for you, sister. I am so glad we're in this together. In closing, I can't help myself in saying:
Gird up, girlfriend! :)
In Jesus' Victorious Name,
Maria Grogan, Deeper Still Prayer Coordinator
